At TRC, we believe that cosmetic excellence should be just as important as internal functionality. That’s why we’re launching a brand-new training and certification program designed to elevate cosmetic refurbishment to a professional, repeatable, and certifiable standard.
Introducing Our Cosmetic Refurbishment Training & Certification
This course is all about turning laptops from a grade B/C aesthetic into a grade A finish using our specially developed Skinz, SticKeys, and Screen Saver products.
It’s not just about covering scuffs—it’s about craftsmanship, precision, and knowing how to manipulate materials under tight tolerances.
Why This Matters
Most people think applying a skin is simple. But achieving a flawless look—every single time—is a skill that requires training, practice, and an understanding of materials and environmental factors (yes, even room temperature matters when it comes to vinyl behavior).
Our course aims to:
- Provide a standardised process across the industry.
- Equip technicians with the skills and awareness to deliver premium results.
- Recognise excellence with a formal certification pathway.
- Three Levels of Certification
We’re introducing a tiered structure to benchmark and reward skill development:
🟢 Basic Certified Application
- Apply a full skin set (lid, palm rest, trackpad, base, keyboard) within 20 minutes.
- Submit a video demonstration of consistent, clean application.
- Each step completed in 5 minutes or less.
🔵 Advanced Certification
- Tackle sizing issues like a pro—no more wasted materials.
- Use advanced techniques to correct vinyl imperfections.
- Complete the full refurb, even with challenges, in just 15 minutes.
🟣 Platinum Certification
- Flawless Screen Saver application in 10 minutes.
- Proven ability to repair minor cracks and dents.
- Showcase mastery of cosmetic transformation at the highest level
