Introducing the TRC Training Academy: Industry-First L1-L4 Certification

June 2026 — The first structured certification program for refurbishment technicians is now open for enrolment.

We’re proud to announce the launch of the TRC Training Academy — the industry’s first structured L1-L4 certification program designed specifically for IT refurbishment technicians.

Developed from over 12 years of hands-on experience, our certification pathway takes technicians from first-time applicator to master refurbisher through a structured progression of skills, judgement, and commercial awareness.

The Certification Pathway

Level 1 — Certified Applicator (£300)

The starting point. Learn refurb station set-up, lid skin application using our application tape technique, and SticKeys™ application. Includes a full tool kit and consumables valued at £351.

Exam: Video assessment — 2 lids + 2 SticKeys in under 20 minutes.

Level 2 — Advanced Refurbisher

Full-device cosmetic restoration. Learn to fully wrap a device (lid, palm, base, sides, trackpad), control stretch and distortion on complex shapes, and lock edges for long-term durability.

Level 3 — Screen Specialist

Advanced screen assessment, repair, and Screen Saver® application mastery. Learn commercial viability assessment and integration with full-device workflows.

Level 4 — Master Refurbisher (Coming Soon)

The highest level. Commercial judgement, structural repair, paint techniques, and multi-method workflow integration.
